Fleur Boonman is an artist, filmmaker and photographer, best known for her 2011 feature film debut “Portable life”, starring Rutger Hauer, Sam Louwijck and Ella June Henrard and her 2020 feature-length documentary “Confessions to dEUS” about the 2019 European tour of Tom Barman’s Belgian rock band dEUS.
Boonman also gained much attention for her worldwide photographic work. Her photographs have been exhibited in galleries such as Fifty-One fine art photography in Antwerp, Belgium, Analix Forever in Geneva, Bozar, Brussels, Belgium and museums such as FOAM, Museum of Photography in Amsterdam and Contemporary art museum, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, where her work is also part of their collection.
Fleur Boonman’s career started in 1999 while still studying at the Rietveld academy, in Amsterdam, when the first video she ever made won the best video in the Dutch film festival in Utrecht. She continued doing the camerawork for, artist Joost Conijn’s celebrated art films “Wood car” and “Airplane”, which were screened nationally and internationally in places such as Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam, Central Museum, Utrecht, The Miró Foundation Barcelona, Manifesta Ljubljana, and The Guggenheim New York.
Since then she has collaborated with various artists, performers and designers while developing her personal work, films, writing projects and photography.

Forty different photographers give their vision on ‘City’ in approximately 150 photos. The photo works come from one of the most beautiful (anonymous) private photography collections in our country, supplemented with a few photos from the collection of Gemeentemuseum Den Haag. The collection includes work by Walker Evans, Karl Hugo Schmölz, Lee Friedlander, Diane Arbus, Ed van der Elsken, Mitch Epstein, Dana Lixenberg, Martin Parr, William Klein and Michael Wolf, among others.
